Safety of a Locking Dispenser:
There is another growing problem in today's society with teenagers and toddlers. There is a growing problem with teens getting their hands on medication and taking it in hopes of getting one type of high or another. This is not only scary but so very dangerous since they don't care what the medication is for or the side effects of the medication that they are taking. Toddlers, on the other hand, just get into things and put it in their mouths. This is even more serious because the tolerance of an infant is far less than a teen or adult.
Having a pill dispenser that offers the security of locking prohibits the teens from getting into the medicine that they would otherwise have access to, just by opening a pill bottle. This leaves the adult that loads the dispenser with the sense of ease that today's teens face with peer pressure and an ever younger parent population. There are far too many overdoses by teens in the world today that ruin our children's lives and the loved ones around them.
Toddlers have the ability to get into things that we would normally take for granted. Most families have to go through their house and childproof everything from cabinet doors to hallways in order to keep their toddlers safe from things that we have around the house that could hurt or even kill them. Medication is not something that is left laying around by too many people but locking pill dispensers help aid in preventing a potential disaster in keeping medication away from them.
Another advantage to a locking pill dispenser is when a patient is prescribed a narcotic by a physician. These are the medications that a teen would most like to get their hands on. This can even help keep patients that are taking a medication that can be addictive from getting more than they need and there for stopping them from becoming addicted. This curves a lot of other problems that are associated with addiction, such as crime to feed the addiction. Most narcotics are highly addictive and any measure taken to keep this from ruining someone's life is a small inconvenience.
